July 9, 2025 – On Monday, June 23, 2025, the Mason Arts Council, along the with the Mason City Council and City Manager, had a sign unveiling to announce the future home of the Regional Center for the Performing Arts – a transformational space designed to celebrate creativity, foster education, and bring the community together through the arts. The site is located at 4201 North Route 42, Mason, OH 45040 (Warren Country Auditor Parcel No. 1219100039, consisting of approximately 16 acres).
In attendance from the Mason Arts Council were Karen Kilgore (President), Rich Bailey (Treasurer), Kim Martin (Secretary), Rich Brown, Renee Collins, Brian Gilliland, Nicole Johnson, Evans Nwankwo, and retired member Tom Huff. Also in attendance were Mason City Manager Eric Hansen, Mayor Diana Nelson, Vice Mayor Ashley Chance, and council members Barbara Spaeth, Josh Styrcula, and Joy Bennett.
“This is a landmark moment for the arts in our city,” said Karen Kilgore, President of the Mason Arts Council. “The new center will not only provide a world-class venue for performances and exhibitions but also serve as a hub for education and community enrichment. I’m honored to lead the Council as we take this exciting step forward and kick off our fundraising efforts.”
The Mason Arts Council remains committed to raising private funds for the construction of the center, ensuring that this ambitious project moves forward without the use of local tax dollars. Together with our board members, community partners, and supporters, MAC is laying the foundation for a vibrant, inclusive, and artistically rich future for Mason.
